FAQ's

Q: When does registration close?
A: Online registration will close on February 25, 2025, 11:00 pm CDT. Late registration will not be accepted and there is no race day registration.

Q: Can I change the event/distance I'm registered for?
A: You may be able to change the distance you've registered for if there is space available.  Please email info@hachie50.com to check. The deadline for all changes is 2 weeks before the event (Feb. 15th).

Q: How do I find out if I am registered?
A: You should get a confirmation email. Plus, you can confirm your registration by logging into your account https://runsignup.com/Race/MyRaceList 

Q: Are runners allowed to have pacers?
A: Yes, you are allowed to have a pacer during your last lap.  Pacers need to be self-sufficient and not take water, food or supplies from the runners water stops.

Q: Is the marathon course BQ certified?
A: YES, we have slightly changed our marathon race course and it will now be a Boston BQ certified course.

Q: I am no longer able to participate in the event, what are my options?
A: We are aware of training injuries, family commitments and other unexpected situations that pop-up in life. Below is a summary of your options if you can no longer participate in the event. For more information about how to make the change, fees, deadlines, contacts, etc., please visit our Policies page for details.
*Runner-to-Runner Transfer - Transfer /donate your registration to another runner.  
*Donate your entry - Transfer your entry to someone else or to our charity. You do not receive any refund.
*Event Transfer/Deferral - Transfer (aka defer) your registration to the following year's event.
*Race Category Change - Change your race category from the 50m to 50k to 26.2, or vice versa. Shirts and/or medals may not be available to finishers after orders have been place. We will work with you after the race is over to pass out any available items.

Q: When can I pick up my packet?
A: Packet pickup is available:

  • Wed & Thurs Feb. 26 & 27 from 3pm - 6pm - Racquet & Jog, 308 N. College St, Waxahachie, TX 75165
  • Friday Feb. 28, 4pm – 7pm – Getzendaner Park, 400 S. Grand Avenue, Waxahachie, TX 75165 
  • Saturday March 1st, 5:00 am – up to your race starting time – Getzendaner Park

Q: Can someone else pick up my packet?
A: Yes - please make sure they have a copy of your ID

Q: Are there any refunds?
A: Since this is a charity event benefiting the Waxahachie Lions Club, we have a no refund policy.

Q: Is there a time limit to complete the race?
A: Yes, Runners must begin the final 10 mile loop by 4:27 p.m. and the course closes at 7:30 p.m.

Q: Are marathon walkers welcome?
A: Yes, as long as you finish in the time limits listed above.

Q: Is on-site parking available?
A: Yes, we have lots of free parking available.

Q: Is there a bag check area?
A: No, there is not a bag check area. 50 milers will have a special area to setup and "make camp". This is a city park and there are lots of open spots for spectators and relay team members to setup and watch. Please secure all valuables in your car.

Q: How does the relay team work?
A: Only one person needs to pick up a packet. Your packets will have all 5 bibs & t-shirts. During the race, the designated Relay Transition Area will be at Mile Marker 0 right beside the trail. There will be people to assist you in the relay but you are responsible for your own transitions. Each team will have 1 bracelet to hand-off during transitions.

Q: Family & Spectator Areas?
A: We highly encourage you to bring family with you! Getzendaner Park and Lions Park are great viewing areas to cheer on your athletes while your children enjoy swings and slides. Both parks are easy to find through Google maps.

Q: Are strollers allowed on the course?
A: No, strollers are not allowed on the race course. Safety of all participants is our number one priority.

Q: Are hiking or trekking poles allowed?
A: Yes, as long as they don't interfere with other runners.

Q: Are headphones allowed on the course?
A: Yes, as long as you are practicing basic safety measures and are aware of your surroundings. Safety of all participants is our number one priority.

Q: What about weather?
A: In the event of rain, the race will continue. If it looks like heavy storms (lightening, hail, etc.) the races will be canceled at the race director’s discretion. No refunds are available since this is a charity fund raising event.

Q: Is the course well lit?
A: The park trail has minimal lighting along the path. HEADLIGHTS/FLASHLIGHTS ARE REQUIRED for all runners starting in the dark. Red blinking taillights are encouraged.

Q: Food & Drink on the course?
A: We’ll have plenty of water & sport drinks (usually Hammer Nutrition & pickle juice) available. On the course there will be many foods available including but not limited to pb&j sandwiches, pickles, pretzels, goldfish, chips, fruit and more. The course is an out-and-back “loop” with four water stops each way therefore the longest you’ll run between any water stop is around 2.25 miles.

Q: Are there bathrooms on the course?
A:  Yes, there are restrooms in the start/finish area; then close to the baseball fields & cemetery; then past the dog park and at Lion's Park at the turn-around.  They are spaced about every 2.5 miles.

Q: Are there awards?
A: Each participant gets a custom unisex shirt. Finishers get custom medals.  50-milers get a belt-buckle!
50 Mile, 30 Mile and Full Marathon races will give awards to the top 6 Male & Female finishers.

Relay Team awards will be given to the first-place team in each category; female, male & coed.
All awards are based on Gun Time, not Chip Time.

Awards will be given out as soon as possible after each race. Race times will be posted online afterwards @ https://runsignup.com/hachie50/Results

Other Misc. Notes:
• The Race Directors reserve the right to pull any participant off the course for any reason - no refunds.
• The Race Directors reserve the right to delay or cancel the event due to safety reasons.
• No early starting times are available for walkers or others wishing to finish early.
• 50 Mile Ultra participants can have pacers accompany them for the last few laps. We ask that non-paying pacers respect racers by yielding on the course, by bringing your own food and drink, and don’t run through the finish line with the racer.
